I finally get my Juventus Jersey!!! YAYY!!!!

I wanted to buy that jersey last year in Malaysia, but the seller told me in disbelief... "Hey, you tell me which store sells serie B football team (jersey)..." OK Fine, he got his point.

Since then, whenever I got the chance to visit sport-attire shops, I always look for this jersey, but I can't find it... So everytime I walk and see that black-and-white stripped jersey, I hope that is Juventus jersey so I can ask him where to buy it (I am serious with that)... but everytime, it's not Juventus jersey but Newcastle United jersey!! and since then I hate Newcastle United so much! *So when Man United beat them 6-0 and 5-1, I laughed so loud until crying. hueheheheHEHEAHAHAHAHAHA --> super evil*

And finally, my only younger brother, yoky, a creative designer with amazing talent, bought the jersey for me!!! Yay! So happy..

Survey shows... Juventus is the most hated club in the world (It has the most number of haters).. but I don't care. I don't do something to make me popular, I do something that is right. And if that makes people hate me, let be it. *tissue please..*

I love this club too much since 1995. Thirteen years, and I never look back, not once. *fist hand...*

Yup this is exactly how I will look like when I wear that jersey... Fine, a bit shorter, less muscle, and add some fat... but MORE HANDSOME definitely.. *awww... thank you!*

BLOGGERS.. We NEED your opinion!!!

I have been asked by Nanyang Tribune (NTU's newspaper) to write an article regarding "online phenomenon" *clap please.. awww thanks so much :D*

I will be touching on 3 things: blogging, online forum, and audio-video community like youtube.

Anyway.. to make the view more objective and not solely based on whatever inside my head, I NEED your opinion with these questions about blogging (what's better way to know about blogging than asking bloggers?). You don't have to answer all three.

1. What's the main objective of blogging for you? Is it simply bcoz you like to write, or you want to vent out certain feeling? Or ehemm.. monetary reason? Come on.. we don't eat grass, so we all need money. Don't be ashamed to tell me okay?

2. How do you measure your blogging success? is it by the number of visitors.. or about how you can change people's life in certain way? or again EHEMM... money money money?

3. Do you have any interesting experience with your blogging experience? I know someone out there who become a couple bcoz of blogging.. Your experience might not be that extreme, but hey, that's still interesting and we will love to hear that!

Do reach me by commenting on this post or if you have so much to write, you can send it to my E-mail benny.ntu@gmail.com

If you have opinions regarding online forum and/or audio-video community, do feel free to tell me also okay!!!

Thanksssss a million guys!! I will scan the newspaper here after it's published (around end of March)...

If you give me your opinion, I would love to send cutting of that article and mail it to your house free of charge!! With my signature on it and my name card and my close-up photo (I think you will say No, Thanks for the last 3 items but still it's okay to offer something haha...)

This Insomnia is killing me!

I have trouble in sleeping these days. I don't even need an alarm bcoz I always wake up before the alarm rings.. Maybe bcoz the weather is terribly hot (or am I getting fatter instead?). Sometimes I wake up bcoz of bad dreams... with sweaty palms.. bloody nose and shouting "NO, DON'T SHOOT ME.. I HAVE WIFE, TWO SMALL KIDS, AND ONE DOG TO FEED."

Ahem.. I am a bit exaggerating here.. but the feeling is not far from that. You get my point.

- Last night
I dreamed that I did my exam without preparing for it at all. That's correct that I need to catch-up some modules, but could I just have 7-hour sleep in peace..

I woke up bcoz I dreamed of being shot alive after being kidnapped (okay, it's a bit redundant, who on earth will shoot dead people?). That's maybe bcoz I gave a really serious thought regarding a job offer given to me. The company is going to send me to Jakarta, Indonesia, and everyone knows, Jakarta is not very safe.

- Yesterday
I couldn't take a nap (in fact, taking a nap is my favourite of all time..). My mind was just wondering.

Those are just some examples....

Maybe I think too much... Yes it's true that I consume quite a bit of tea these days.. but I used to consume the same amount of coffee in the past and that didn't disturb my sleep.

Anyways... bcoz of that, I decided to listen to some old-songs to help me to relax..

A very nice song by the legendary Diana Ross - If We Hold on Together.

Wish me a nice sleep tonight, am I asking too much?

bf = BoyFriend, not BreakFast okay?

Girl A: "My friend is so lame. She sent me a sms.. "I am hungry. I want bf!""

Girl B: "What? So materialistic lor.. How come she needs boyfriend to buy her meal. Then if she doesn't have boyfriend, she will die lor.."

Girl A: "No, bf is breakfast."

Girl B : " ... "

(The conversation is slightly edited for the benefit of non-Singlish speakers =P)

I scratched my head. Don't you think abbreviations nowadays are too much?

I am worried that one day, the lame friend of hers will write "I mit my bf bf bf", which translates into "I meet my BoyFriend BeFore BreakFast." Oh dear...

I know I am lame.

What is FYP?

FYP (Final Year Project) is a daily vocabulary for final-year students... It's so commonly spoken that I notice some abbreviations of FYP from my MSN list.

FYP = Final Year Project

For someone who worry about that too much until can't sleep
FYP = Fourth Year Panic / Pain / Pressure / Punishment / Persecution

For those who want to be seen with that special someone in their graduation day.
FYP = Find Your Partner

Stress makes you fat.. no wonder what people say about FYP..
FYP = Free Your Plate

I know sometimes our professor can be so nasty... so sometimes FYP can mean
FYP = FUCK YOU PROF!!!

Ehemm... I am not suggesting you adopt the last one.
What's FYP for you? :)

Lord, Give Me COURAGE

Today as part of my daily bible reading, I encountered a very beautiful bible saying:

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a
sound mind." (2 Timothy 1 : 7)

Beautiful isn't it?

All of us face uncertainties in life. Students face uncertain future, can I get my dream job? Working professionals face uncertain future, can I get promoted? Or worse, can I keep my bread-and-butter until next year? Every parents worry.. can my children live a good life? Without smoking, without taking drugs, without pre-marital sex? without doing criminal actions?

I don't believe if someone says "I am not afraid of anything."... Research shows, 95% of people have thought of doing suicide at least once in their life. I am in that 95%.

What is courage? Let linguists define that. For me, courageous person is someone who:

- sees unethical way to do something, but says "No, it's not the way."

- is very tired, but still goes to work, still goes to evening class, and still does exercise.

- is presented with cake, but chooses salad instead bcoz it's healthier.

- has access to porn but chooses not to watch it.

- has all the opportunities to do revenge, but says "let's forget it."

and the list goes on.

It is not easy, but as the mighty JFK said "We do it not because it's easy, but because it is HAAARRRDDD."

God, I pray that everyday I do the things that I SHOULD do, not the things I prefer to do.

One Moment in Time

One of the most ear-catching songs from probably the greatest female voice of all-time, Whitney Houston.

When you're down (and you're bored with You Raise Me Up.. =P), you can have this song as your alternative.

Truly inspirational.

Losing sucks.

I am tired, and disappointed. I just came back from OlymPPIC, a sport event organized by PPIS (Indonesian students' Association in Singapore).

I played men's double with my partner, Dhany. We finished in the top 4 out of 13 good doubles, and that's not bad in fact. However, I just think that I haven't been playing well during the past 2 days, and that makes me so upset.

Yesterday I made 7 service errors in one single match. For someone who's not new to badminton, seven service errors in one match are just fucking terrible. Today I played so badly, maybe one of the worst in my badminton "career" (fine, I just play for my school, my hostel, but hey, that's still a career isn't that?)

And the worst part is.... from the first few minutes of the match, I had been thinking "NO, WE ARE GOING TO LOSE.. THIS TASK IS JUST IMPOSSIBLE!!!"

I usually am very positive, and when I think that I am going to lose from the very beginning, that's just really not me. I hated that feeling and I felt so shitty.

I played like a loser and I finished the game as a loser. No proud feeling. No love. No passion. Nothing. Nada.

Maybe a few years later when I look back at this blog entry, I finally understand that I am no superman. I am a human, afterall. Someone who can fail, can feel shitty, can give up, can feel frustrated, and can cry.

And I DID cry, not because I lose, but because I can't give my best.. and for not being myself.

Nevertheless, losing sucks.

7 Weird Things about Ben

Been tagged by Hendry, sorry.. Henry.. sorry Hendri =P

- Link to the person who tagged you.
- Post the rules on your blog.
- Share seven random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog.
- Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
- Leave a comment on their blogs so that they know they have been tagged.

1. I am a great believer of "Boys don't cry." Crying is a sign of weakness I tell ya. The last time I cried is when I watched a japanese drama titled "one litre of tears". I cried twice, much less than my friends who cried five to nine times.

2. I can't play soccer, not a bit. However, I like to watch soccer matches and I am quite well-informed about soccer news. In case you don't know, Juventus is the best football club in the world, ever.

3. I have relocated four times during my university days, with five different roomates. The funny thing is, during my high school times, I also relocated four times in three years. I just can't seem to be able to live in one place for so long.

4. For most of the times, I can express my ideas better in writing instead of talking. That explains why I expressed my love to the first girl I truly loved by... sending her sms. Sound coward but that's okay.

5. When I am angry or tired, I would sleep and turn off my mobile phone until I get better. The longest time? 14 hours.

6. During 22 years of my life, I have been awarded more than 30 trophies, ranging from drawing, mathematics, public speaking, essay writing, music, computer, poem writing, physics, chemistry, badminton, and debating. That's how well-diversed my interests are. I am usually quite good in almost everything I do. NOT FAIR HUH?? =P

7. If people ask me how strong my smash in badminton was, I always tell them, my ex-roomie's eyes got swollen for four days because they were hit by my smash. That's how strong I was when I was young.

I want to tag:
That's all. Four lucky persons. I am not too evil to tag seven.

Another LOVE-less Valentine.. *sigh*

Pronunciation: \ˈləv\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English lufu; akin to Old High German luba love, Old English lēof dear, Latin lubēre, libēre to please

WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?!!!

When everybody thinks this world has gone mad, I disagree! I think this world is doing FINE (not great, just fine)
WHY?

You google, type the word "love", you will get 2050 mil.
Type the word "money", you will get 1500 mil, and "sex" will bring you 560 mil.

YES. LOVE conquers the world!!! *I don't know what i am saying*

Anyway, happy valentine day everyone!!

Love,
Ben
I am single but not completely available due to study commitment, hobby commitment, and other commitments at the moment. But please feel free to deposit your resume and I shall get back to you very soon. Thanks.

*I completely don't know what I am doing.*

Even the park uses the name.. "Love Park" (though it looks more like a pond to me.)

Lesson I learnt from Taste of Love

Quoting a scene on Taste of Love at channel 8

When Yu Yutong (Candice Liu) asked Wang Xue Ren (Zheng Geping)..

Yu Yutong : "May I ask you a question... Am I cut to be a chef?"

Wang Xue Ren : "No doubt. I haven't found anyone more skillful than you in cooking."

Yu Yutong : "Thanks, that's the sentence I need."

I was stunned.
We certainly ENJOY Simon Cowell's "You are one of the worst singers I have ever seen" - kind of comments right? And not thinking how heart-broken the person is after practising so hard?
*Simon Cowell, go to hell!!!!!*

Everybody needs encouragement.. LOTS OF IT! Have you given yours today?

FREE yet MEMORABLE ways to celebrate VALENTINE DAY!

Valentine day doesn't need to be costly. Here are 7 ideas which cost nothing to almost nothing to make your Valentine day memorable.

1. Cooking together

I know what's in your mind, but NO, instant noodle doesn't count.
Want extra challenge? Search a completely unfamiliar recipe in the internet, you two go shopping together to buy the ingredients, and cook together.
Cooking represents life. We have to make the best out of limited resources (time, skill, ingredients).
Because of that, cooking definitely tops my list.

2. Create a new love blog
If some of you say... I usually dedicate one post for him/her. HELLO! Your partner DESERVES more than a post, he/she deserves at least a blog address (and the best part, it's free!)
It doesn't matter if the only people who bother to read your blog are the two of you, so blog address like http://TERRYandALICEtogetherFOREVER.blogspot.com/ or http://WEareABSOLUTELYinLOVEhehehehe.blogspot.com/ is absolutely alright (yes, I haven't used those address, you can steal any of those.). You can read your blog in the future, with smile.

3. Play sports!
Playing sports (just like eating chocolate) makes us happy, and in Valentine day, we need a lot of happiness don't we?

4. Go to the beach, or anywhere.. and turn off that stupid phone!
We need some quality time without the need to answer calls, reply sms and E-mails. Our phone needs rest too.

5. Study together.

WHAT??!! Yes. We all know our professors aren't very romantic, and Valentine Day isn't public holiday unfortunately.
Studying together with the one we love is at least 1000 times better than eating ice cream with the one we hate, and it's FREE.

6. Do charity work or visit an orphanage.

You think your life is so miserable? You better think again. Doing good works to help unfortunate ones makes us feel that indeed we are so lucky, and Love is universal, it's across boundaries.

7. Go shopping.

Sadly to be said, when everything else fails, shopping is the ultimate solution. However, go shopping at your own risk... :D

Valentine Day doesn't have to be costly right? :)

3 GOLDS and 2 SILVERS. WOOT!!!

We won 3 GOLDS and 2 SILVERS.. and that's enough to make me feel I am in heaven level 99.

If I were to describe our final against Malaysia, I have 1 vivid word for that.. Emotional. I kept on shouting during the match to release my 1 mega-newton tension!!!

Let's start with pretty girls... "World-class university" like NTU will attract people from all over the world, including those who are blessed with physical beauty like these.. :D

... and world-class badminton captain. NO, I am not the special one. But I deliver special result :)
In badminton, the highest is God, and after God, me. (Yes, I am a big fan of Mourinho.)

I was having a lot of fun after being teased by my team-mates because I kept on shouting HUHHHH during my match. That HUHHHH is my trademark. Thou Shalt Not Copy.

My Vice-Captain, Dhany, who officially resumed the prestigious position as captain since last night. I am sure he will do an amazing job in the future.

My partner in mix double, Yulia. We lost in the final against Malaysia but that's alright.

I can't ask for more.. I received my 2nd and 3rd medal from badminton, and my first gold after 4 years.
Someone, please pull me back to earth coz I am now in heaven level 99!

You've got a DREAM. You gotta protect it!!

Good movie entertains, truly great movie inspires. If I were to mention one movie title that's truly great, "The Pursuit of Happyness" should be the one.

“You’ve got a dream, you gotta protect it. Don't let somebody tell you, you can't do something."

Most people can dream, and they love it. However, most people suddenly realize that dream is not for everybody. "Get a life, and stop dreaming!" is strong enough to make them come back to a mediocre life.

When I was in my first year, my university required me to take English Proficiency class, a class for people whose command of English is below average. I told myself "Maybe I think too high of myself."... and I thought that I will never be able to give a speech eloquently, and I didn't cut to be on the stage.

However, slowly, I started to re-discover my faith. I told myself, I will prove them wrong. I will be on stage before I graduate from university. I don't care how many people are the audiences. I MUST BE on a stage and talk.

If 20 people sit and listen to me talking on stage, I could leave my university feeling satisfied. I achieved my dream. I stood on the stage talking to 200 people, including Singapore Parliamentary Secretary and NTU Students' Union President. I asked God for 20, and He gave me 200.

In 28 August 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr said in his speech:
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

45 years later, a black guy called Barack
Obama stands as a front-runner for US Presidency.

My friends, don't let anyone tell you "your dream is impossible." If they say so, you have all the right to say "yes, it's impossible FOR YOU. It's possible for me. Shut up and let me continue pursuing my dream!"
